Premium California Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio is the second most popular wine in America. It is a crisp white wine that grows all over the world. The greyish-blue grape grows well in the cooler areas of California’s Central Coast. There are many different styles based on the climate and terroir (the completely natural environment of the wine). Pinot Grigio is the Italian clone of the Alsatian Pinot Gris. While they are the same grape they do infer different styles. Pinot Grigio is light, crisp, and ready to go straight out of the bottle with no aging recommended. Along with Chardonnay and White Zinfandel, Pinot Grigio is often referred to as a “Mom Wine” given its popularity with the American middle-aged female population. Looking to pair Pino Grigio? Think of the sea, this wine will delight with fish. A little ceviche would be superb or perhaps to complement a clambake or Maine lobster.
